Humanode Emerges as the Most Decentralized Blockchain, Developed with Polkadot SDK, According to Nakamoto Coefficient

Humanode, a blockchain built with Polkadot SDK, becomes the most decentralized by Nakamoto Coefficient

Humanode, a Layer-1 blockchain developed using Polkadot SDK, has achieved the status of being the most decentralized blockchain network to date based on the Nakamoto Coefficient. With 706 active validator nodes, the Nakamoto Coefficient for Humanode stands at 236, surpassing the previous leader, Mina, with a Nakamoto Coefficient of 155. Polkadot now ranks in 3rd place.
The Nakamoto Coefficient serves as a metric to indicate how many node operators would be needed to control a portion of a layer-1 blockchain significant enough to potentially disrupt the network if validators were to coordinate in doing so. A higher number signifies greater decentralization within the blockchain.

“Proof-of-Stake blockchains often gravitate towards the largest validators or staking protocols, such as Lido, which essentially operate the infrastructure. If Lido were to fail, it could raise doubts about the decentralization of Proof-of-Stake networks. While these networks may have millions of nodes, the actual control over consensus is held by a select few. We always aimed to address this,” mentioned Victor, co-founder of Humanode. “In Humanode, each individual can only launch one node, verified through cryptobiometric technology. All validators possess equal authority, leading to a proportional increase in Humanode’s decentralization with every human node. Just imagine the Nakamoto Coefficient we could achieve with 10,000 or even 1 million nodes! This significantly reduces the likelihood of a coordinated attack. No other project can claim to be more decentralized than Humanode.”
Humanode is set to introduce its governance protocol, where each human node holds a single vote, creating the first democratic DAO to oversee the ongoing development of the core protocol and ecosystem.
About Humanode
Humanode, constructed using Polkadot SDK as an EVM Compatible Layer-1, is the first blockchain to implement cryptobiometric technology where one human equals one node equals one vote. It leverages private facial recognition to prevent multiple accounts and bots from exploiting features like retroactive airdrops, DAOs, DeFi, NFT mints, GameFi, and more. Within just a year since its mainnet launch, Humanode has amassed over 500,000 users and engaged with 70+ projects utilizing its unique cryptobiometric technology.
